Welcome to Canisius University! We are excited that you will be a part of the Canisius family and that you have decided to attend Parent & Family Orientation!

This two-day orientation takes place in July and runs concurrently—but separately—from the student orientation, allowing parents, guardians, and family supporters to explore the university, engage with campus resources, and better understand the Canisius experience.

The summer orientation session dates are:

• Session 1 - July 14-15
• Session 2 - July 17-18
• Session 3 - July 21-22
• Session 4 - July 24-25

Please keep the following in mind:

• Your registration is separate from your students. Please do not include their name when you register for Parent & Family Orientation.
  • Please be certain your student has registered for the same date as you for their New Griff Orientation session through their student portal. The link can be found here.
• You and your student will have separate programs!
  • However, you will be able to eat lunch and dinner together.
• The student orientation fee includes up to two guests at no additional cost. Additional guests may be accommodated, subject to availability and an additional fee.
  • A charge of $30 per extra family member can be paid online at the time of registration. Please click on this link to be taken to the payment site.
• Unfortunately, due to the lack of available space on campus, we are unable to provide housing for parents/guardians or additional family members during the NGO sessions. Here's a list of local Buffalo hotels provided by Admissions!
